The Hawthorn Kitchen - Autumn
October 19th 10.00-15.00
In the Celtic tradition, Autumn (An Samhain) was a time to celebrate the harvest and prepare for the lean winter months ahead. Today, with year-round access to all kinds of foods, we often forget the significance of eating seasonally. This Autumn series encourages a renewed curiosity in what it means to eat "in season" and how to embrace it. We’ll explore the best foods to enjoy and preserve for the colder months, from warm soups and roasted roots to preserves like chutneys and sauerkraut. Anybody with food intolerances will greatly benefit from these food days as you will learn about excluding dairy, yeast, gluten and sugar from your diet. Be Winter Ready!
